Car Lot Building Permit Open to the Public?  Yes Fees?  Fee's are based upon the current ICC values and square footage of the job that is to be done. Description: In order to obtain a Building Permit for a Car Lot building the following requirements shall be met: 1. Obtain a release from the Health Department or governing authority responsible for removal of sewage. 2. Obtain a release from the Planning and Zoning Department. 3. Provide a handicap accessible entrance and means of egress to and from the building / office as described in the North Carolina State Building Code and the North Carolina State Accessibility Code. 4. Provide a handicap accessible bathroom for use by employees and customers as described in the North Carolina Plumbing Code and the North Carolina Accessibility Code. 5. Provide adequate electric power as described in the National Electric Code. 6. Provide an adequate space-heating system in order to maintain a temperature of 68 degrees at a point 3 feet above the floor as described in the North Carolina Mechanical Code. 7. Submit two sets of plans to the County Fire Marshall (these can be submitted to the Inspections Dept. at time of application. We will deliver them to the Fire Marshalls office). 8. Complete an application with the Inspections Department. Submit two sets of plans and a building code summary. Pay all necessary fees.
