 The Davidson County Sheriff's Office is responsible for the housing of any person who is under indictment, or ordered held in custodial care by a judicial official.  The Davidson County Jail maintains housing for an average of 280 inmates daily.  This includes meals, exercise, mail service, phone access, visitation, and the fielding of inquiries regarding an assortment of subjects.  The Jail is manned 24 hours a day, every day of the year, by one of four squads of certified detention officers.  These squads are supervised on-site by a squad Lieutenant.  Those Lieutenants, Lt.
